So, I purchased 2 Voyager Control harnesses because they were the only ones I was able to find that were most like the Ruffwear Webmaster harnesses. That being said, I have never owned a Ruffwear Webmaster harness, so I have no idea if they are better or not. All I can speak for is the Voyager Control.I bought the harnesses because we do a lot of hiking - I wanted to have a good harness to lift the girls up and over obstacles, not have the leash ending up between their legs etc. I did not purchase these because they back out of harnesses.First impression - well made, I like the cushioning on the girth and belly straps. After adjusting the harnesses to fit (this takes some time), I did a test lift. Both harnesses did well, did not loosen at all. Dogs seemed very comfortable being lifted. We purchased 2 mediums going by the sizing chart. If you’re looking at the pictures, the fawn is 58 lbs with a 32 inch chest. We had to lengthen the girth strap almost all the way to fit her comfortably (went past the strap cushion). The belly girth was already as short as it would go, and as she has a tiny waist, it was loose on her. I’m ok with that. It still provides support when she was lifted by the handle. The brindle/white dog is 53 pounds and 28 inch chest. I didn’t have to loosen the girth strap much, but did have to shorten the chest straps so it wasn’t flopping all over her. Once adjusted, it fit her well (also has loose belly girth).Over all, I am very happy with these harnesses. Not a lot of reflective material, but I didn’t purchase them for that reason. We have night lights to attach to them. The younger one who freaks about anything new, was very comfortable in the harness. I’m looking forward to actually putting them out on the trail in their new gear!Sturdy! Handle has proven essential! Waist runs large! Straps stretch when wet. Sized down & fit perfectly!I have 2 Australian shepherds. They have very large chests and finding a harness that fits them well has been challenging. I settled on this one due to the 3 strap system that seemed more customizable than many other harnesses on the market. We hike and swim a lot and I wanted something with a handle to assist them if necessary. This feature has proven essential many times, particularly when climbing out of lakes/rivers/the ocean or while scrambling on wet rocks or other slippery surfaces.Based off of the size chart and reviews, I ordered them each a size M. It fit OKAY. Like many have mentioned, the waist was much too big even when tightened all the way. I opted to return them and give the Small a shot. My dogs are not small. One is 42lbs (smallish?) and the other is just above the weight limit of the S at 55lbs. The small fit better but the chest strap just fit while being all the way extended/loosened. This made me nervous, but once the straps get wet they stretched and I now have plenty of strap to tighten it/loosen it as needed. After some use they fit perfectly. Dogs aren’t bothered by wearing them for several days at a time.Fit was excellent: size medium for my border collie mix dog excellent the belly strap was in wrong position for my male dog. There no no way to adjust it higher up closer to his chest. It is a really sturdy and would have been perfect except for the lower position of the belly strap. My goldendoodle would wiggle out of a regular harness, and she hates this one because she can't wiggle out. I love it that it is easy to put on, and that she can't pull free no matter how much she tries. The material is sturdy but not overly stiff, and is easy to clean when she decides to take a roll in the mud.I have tried countless harnesses on my Jack Russell and she has been able to escape them all. This is the very first harness she hasn't escaped from. It is good quality and it seems comfortable for her. She is super happy that she can finally go on adventures again.I have a 70lb German shirt hair pointer. He is a genius at escaping. This is the 3rd harness we've tried. Due to the 3rd strap behind the rib cage, he can't back out if the harness. But, we've only had it 2 weeks and it's starting to rip where the handle is sown to the back. The metal clip is attached at the same point, so when it tears we won't be able to use the clip. The other negative is there isn't a front clip on chest for walks. But it's comfortable and my dog doesn't mind wearing it.For his measurements neck 19, chest 31.5, stomach (3rd strap) 22, we ordered a medium. The 3rd strap is about 1/2 inch too big, so it's loose, but he still can't escape care his rib cage is so much bigger. The neck strap is a little loose as well. The chest strap is fine. I'm afraid a small would be way too small. He has a large rib cage and skinny neck and stomach, a long and lean dog.Update: In November, due to the tearing at the clip site, we returned the harness and got a replacement of the same harness. The harness fits well and works great. But it started to tear at the same spot where the clip and handle are down into the back. Yesterday, I came home to my dog off of his leash. He had pulled in the leash causing the clip to rip off of the harness entirely ( see pictures above). To day i hooked the lash to the lower loop on the back of the harness. He pulled till he ripped that loop off as well (see picture). I'm disappointed cause otherwise it is a really great harness. I just wish they could do something to reinforce these high tension areas where the clips are sown on.I've got a 65 lb Pyrenees / blue heeler mix - he can escape out of any other harness that doesn't have the very back strap. He's also a tugger and very strong. We have lots of bunnies he likes to try to chase. We've had 3 of these in the last 2 years. We walk 3-4 times a day so it gets its wear. Out of the 3 we've had one that started tearing at the D-ring, we just decided to buy a new one. We will continue to buy these. We LOVE it!Thought I’d try this harness as it was less expensive than the leading brand. £25 cheaper. Unfortunately, the size M doesn’t match the size of the other harness I have for my border collie. The lower middle strap is too long and unable to adjust any tighter. This being too loose allow my Houdini dog to slip out of his harness. The quality was noticeably less when compared with the Ruffwear three-point harness I already own. There is although a nice feature with this harness which includes a plastic clasp fitted to the chest strap to save lifting the dog's leg through the front part of the front harness strap. The item returned using Amazon's service for a refund. I’ve ordered another ruffwear anti-slip harness which I know does fit perfectly and had to bite the bullet at the extra expense.Updated 20-02-20:The item return address is USA Indianapolis not UK. Cheapest cost to send to the USA is £19. which I have to pay. With the harness only costing £27. I make £8 quid back. I, therefore, will give to charity.Be warned and it goes to show you go cheap it comes back and bites you big.Rating dropped from 3 stars down to 2Bought for an old Lab with dodgy knees, I needed something to help if she got in to trouble on a walk. I was worried that she might find it uncomfortable, but she clearly prefers it to a collar.Black Labs are difficult to see at night, so with this one (it has reflective edging) and a small dog light on the top, she is easy to track. Great bit of kit and half the price of a similar item.Fantastic harness and a snip of the price compared to similar branded harnesses. We ordered a medium for our tall and slim lurcher and it fits him perfectly.Unfortunately it was not a good fit for our dog but that’s our dog not the harness. Very good quality and certainly as good as the leading brand of three-point anti escape harnesses.Very sturdy and well made , would definitely buy again , good value for money, fits well and good adjustment
