I don't often write producr reviews, but this one warrants the effort.We recently added an abandoned large breed puppy to our household... she appears to be about 5 months old. Many rescue dogs inhale their food as they have to eat as much as possible before someone else gets to it. She would devour her 1.5 cups of kibble in 10 seconds flat, followed by burps, hiccups, and a gurgling tummy.While the time stated in the description may be a bit exaggerated, it now takes our girl about 4-5 minutes to eat her meal. That's a record for us ?It works for wet food as well, is relatively easy to clean (the sponge goes into the sections easily, haven't put it in the dishwasher yet because I use it twice a day and our dishwasher only runs a couple of times a week).The suction doesn't work as well with our bowl because the bowl isn't flat on the bottom. The dog pushes the insert around inside the bowl as she digs for the food but that does not affect the use and effectiveness.I was initially concerned about the size of the insert (7 inches diameter), but I think that's part of the genius.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend the product.I thought it was to be the size that fit the bowl. As you can see it’s smaller.I like the idea of the wavy grooves. It slowed him down without irritating him. I was worried he might be frustrated but it definitely did it’s job. My only complaint would be this… if I do not collect the bowl soon enough, he love to chew on it. He got the center paw ? chewed off and a couple little slits in the sides. And that wasn’t very difficult for him.This product is fantastic. It fits in our bowl and slows him down while eating.I had big hopes for this bowl, when I first got it I was underwhelmed. Let me start by saying there’s no way it fits 3 cups of food, I can barely fit one without it completely covering the dividers. Yeah it probably fits 3 cups in theory but by the second cup it’s just a regular bowl. I got it for our puppy that inhales his food no matter what invention I try to put it in. It’s much smaller than other slow feeding bowls we have, but it works great. I mixed the food with yoghurt and pumpkin purée and stuffed it really well between the dividers and he had to work for it. I also put the bowl in a regular feeding bowl for more sturdiness and less chance of him knocking it over. Did the trick. Also it’s super easy to clean if you clean it right away! I do wish there was a bigger size though. I have to feed my pup about 4 cups a day right now and since I can only fit one in this bowl then I have to get creative with how to feed him the second!It works great! Slows down my dog and is plenty sturdyI have an 9 week old German Short-haired Pointer. To say she eats fast is a gross understatement. We tried several different tactics to slow her eating down, such as putting her cibbles on the floor spread out, smaller portions, etc. We found this slow feed bowl and it did the job immediately! She went from 20 second feeding times to about 4 minutes. The grooves in the bowl challenge her to retrieve a piece at a time. I most definitely recommend this. Outstanding results!Within two seconds of the very first meal, the dog picked the whole thing up, tipped it over and scattered his kibble under all the utility room furniture, washing machine, dryer etc, They all had to be pulled out to stop the endless scrabbling by said dog to retrieve every last crumb. Utterly useless design.My dog usually inhales his food in about 10 seconds. This fits in his feeder well and really has slowed him down. He now takes about 5 minutes to eat, and his tail wags the whole time. He did get a bit over zealous and tried to steal the insert, but we now just pick it up to wash once he’s finished eating.Very wobbly silicone bowl, my dog didn’t take to it at all. Sections were too deep so he couldn’t get the food and was a pain to clean. Got rid after 5 days…shame.From all thing I have bought for my dog this one is my favourite. The material, the design the colour everything is very hight quality.Works so well in my dogs raised bowls, and it’s perfect in that it’s dishwasher safe as well.Can’t recommend enough.Just hope it’s back in stock soon so I can buy another for my other dog.
